Ostergaard
Acoustical Associates provides building acoustics services to architects,
planners and users to assure good hearing conditions
and the control of noise and vibration.

Site
Noise Evaluation
We carry out studies and acoustical measurements to determine the potential noise
impact of noise sources, such as vehicles and aircraft and to ascertain compliance
with noise codes. We then identify the implications for building layout and construction
and clearly and concisely communicate this information to the client.

Room
Acoustics
Interior finish materials and their placement significantly affect hearing conditions.
For example, the room acoustics for an auditorium in natural voice reinforcement
and appropriate reverberation, while privacy is the goal for open offices. Ostergaard
Acoustical Associates assists with room acoustics criteria, analyses and recommendations.
Follow-up testing is also available to evaluate the resulting environment.

Sound
System Design
We provide sound system designs compatible with the overall acoustical design,
including specifications, contract drawings, check out, and adjustment to assure
effective sound systems. Designs include sound reinforcement and playback systems
for auditoriums, and masking sound systems to improve privacy in office areas.

Sound
Isolating Construction
It is necessary to control the travel of sound for privacy, good hearing and
acoustical comfort. We provide analyses to determine the necessary acoustical
performance of wall, ceiling and slab constructions. Construction descriptions,
specifications, details and inspection and provided to assure effective sound
isolation.

Mechanical
System Noise and Vibration Control
Noise from mechanical systems travels through
duct work as well as through walls and floors. We
establish noise criteria for each space and prepare
preliminary guidelines for the mechanical engineer.
The mechanical design is analyzed; recommendations
and specifications and prepared for those mechanical
design revisions necessary to assure that the noise
criteria are met.
